Puerto Penasco

I cannot believe this I have not blogged for 2 whole months. What am I thinking? Oh well, let's start obviously I was still in July when I stopped blogging so here we go.
We went on our first family vacation with the kids to Mexico, Puerto Penasco or more commonly known as Rocky Point. We went with our friends the Valdez's and had a great time there. We stayed at the Las Palomas resort and it was beautifu. I could not believe Mexico was that close to AZ only four hours away, I told Joe we would have to come every year from now on because I loved the beach.

Emma singing the ABC's

July 4th

Joe and I took the kids to the Cold Stone building to watch the fireworks at the new baseball stadium. The fireworks were supposed to start at 9:30 p.m. but it didn't start for another hour and a half. It was so late, we almost went home but did not give in. We had great view but we realize that we were actually to close so it was super loud and the kids did not have a good time. They cried for 15 minutes and then they didn't even want to see the fireworks. Maybe next year will be a little better.

I love this country, I feel safe and is my home now. Happy Independence day US!

Cleaning the yard

Well, the front yard was looking bad again =). I think, we cut the yard every quarter. So it can look funny sometimes. Anyway, I only realized the front yard had over grown because landscaping companies left their business cards in the door. Joe worked on the yard one Saturday morning in July, it was a little cloudy but it was still super hot. The kids wanted to go outside with daddy, so I put some gloves on them and ask them to help daddy pick up the garbage. The kids were very happy not too helpful yet but they tried hard.

Sam, Michelle and Jane in AZ

Oh, it was so fun to hang out with Sam's family for a few days here in AZ. I feel so bad though, the day they arrived the temperature was 113 F and the whole week was almost the same temperature. So sorry guys! It was hot! We all were good sports especially Michelle, she was 5 months pregnant then, and did things even though the heat was extreme. We went to the splash park, that was a blast for the kids and even the adults (Sam & Joe) who kept running around trying to get each other wet and they both did get very wet indeed. Michelle took a few pictures of the locos siblings. I forgot my camera that day so sad for me. We also went to the Phoenix Zoo for a few hours, that was fun too because the park was empty (summer) so we could walk faster after that we were just to tired to do anything else for the day. We visited Seth's family and met Mindy and kids at Seth's community pool. Oh, and of course the scorpions could not stay away while we had family in town. Sam woke up sharing his bed with a small scorpion, the scorpion was half dead though because we sprayed the house with pesticide just a few weeks back. Well, that was fun! Thanks for coming to our house Sam, Michelle and Jane!

This is as close as it gets to have 4 kids looking at the camera

The Children's Museum of Phoenix

The kids had a blast at the museum. We had not come for a year and Emma had the time of her life. She was into everything and she just wanted to take off all by herself.  The new attraction was The Schuff-Perini Climber which they didn't have last year. At the beginning Noah was a little shy, so Joe had to go with him in a few places that he could fit. Noah really liked climbing this thing and wanted to go again and again.

Isn't this boat cute?
